Accessible Transportation Services

United Disability Services has lift-equipped vans and buses available to provide accessible shuttle services for community events. Transportation services are available Monday-Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m., after hours and weekends. All drivers are trained and vehicles inspected for safety. Scenic View Transportation is a family-oriented non-profit, originally organized in 2007. Non-emergent ambulatory and wheelchair transportation services are available to the elderly, underprivileged, and disabled population for medical, non-medical, and other necessary appointments. Transportation services are available Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. by calling 330-244-0657.


The Accessibility Library is a strategy identified in the Akron/Summit Cultural Plan (2020) which originated with artist and advocate Alicia Hopkins. The thoughtful implementation of a process by which nonprofit community groups could access assistive technology and support items for events has been carried forward by the following organizations:
