Carla Hall's journey to becoming a celebrated chef is both unique and inspiring. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, she began her career in accounting after studying at Howard University's Business School. Not long after, a career shift led her to the fashion industry, where she worked as a runway model. From her new home in Europe, she began to travel the globe, and it was during these travels that Hall discovered her true passion for food, prompting her to change directions once again and dive into the culinary world.

Today, Carla Hall is a renowned chef with extensive experience working in Washington, D.C. area restaurant kitchens and has now made a name for herself as a television personality, appearing on numerous shows and earning accolades for her approachable and heartfelt cooking style. Hall is also a respected author with several cookbooks to her credit, including "Carla’s Comfort Food: Favorite Dishes from Around the World" and "Carla Hall's Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration," as well as contributions to The Chew’s cookbook series.

Moderating the evening’s conversation will be NEO Food & Beverage Podcaster Lisa Sands. This special fundraiser event offers a unique opportunity to hear from Carla Hall herself about her diverse career, her love for cooking, and her journey from the accounting office to the kitchen, and into our homes. Don't miss this chance to gain insights from a culinary expert and celebrate the Akron Summit County Public Library’s Sesquicentennial with us this Fall.

All proceeds from this fundraising event will support the Akron-Summit County Public Library's mission of providing exceptional resources, programs, and services to our vibrant community for 150 years.
