In August 2024, the Library Board of Trustees engaged Bostwick Design Partnership, an architecture, design, and master planning firm in Cleveland, to conduct a Space Usage Feasibility Study.
Bostwick reviewed the facilities assessments done by the Library, visited all Library buildings, met with staff from all Library locations, and solicited feedback from the community through online surveys, in-person planning sessions, and virtual meetings with community stakeholders. Public engagement conducted by the Bostwick team revealed that the public desires quiet study spaces, collaborative spaces, creative areas, more technology, comfortable seating, and improved spaces for remote work. Many respondents acknowledged the need for updating and modernizing Library facilities. The results also indicated that virtually all respondents are overwhelmingly pleased with the service provided by Library staff and the cleanliness of the facilities.
The results of the study have provided information regarding the facilities needs and the estimated costs to repair and modernize each ASCPL location.
The final report of the Space Usage Feasibility Study is available below and contains more information about the Library’s capital needs.
