FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[Akron, Ohio] — Akron-Summit County Public Library will host bestselling author Tia Williams for an evening conversation as part of its “Main Event, Many Voices” series on Monday, April 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Main Library Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

Williams will be joined in conversation by moderator Stephanie Haney of Ideastream Public Media, host of the program “Sound of Ideas.” The discussion will explore Williams’s creative process, her journey as a writer, and the inspiration behind her work in young adult and romance fiction.

A bestselling author and former beauty editor for leading publications such as Elle, Glamour, and Essence, Williams is the author of eight books. Her novel “Seven Days in June” was a New York Times bestseller and a Reese’s Book Club selection, while “The Perfect Find” was adapted into a feature film on Netflix. Her writing is known for blending romance, humor, history, and elements of magic while centering stories of Black excellence.

Following the discussion, Williams will sign copies of her latest works, including “A Love Song for Ricki Wilde” and “Audre and Bash Are Just Friends.” Books will be available for purchase on-site through the Friends of the Main Library, while supplies last.

Registration is not required for this event. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with auditorium doors opening at 6:15 p.m.
