Marie Benedict is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of eight works of historical fiction. She is the author of "The Only Woman in the Room," "The Mystery of Mrs. Christie," "Carnegie's Maid," "The Other Einstein," "Lady Clementine," "Agent 355," "Her Hidden Genius," "The Mitford Affair" and a Good Morning America Book Club pick, "The Personal Librarian" (with Victoria Christopher Murray). They have been translated into over thirty languages, and her books are often not only Indie Next and Library Reads picks but also chosen by national book clubs such as Barnes & Noble, Target, and Costco.

Co-authors Giffels and Dellinger come together with longtime friend Bob Ethington for a moderated discussion to share their rock biography "The Beginning Was the End: Devo in Ohio"

Jade Dellinger is director of the Bob Rauschenberg Gallery at Florida Southwestern State College where he has curated shows, commissioned installations, hosted lectures, and held performances with artists including the Guerilla Girls, Yoko Ono, Laurie Anderson, the Go-Go's Jane Wiedlin, and Devo's Gerald Casale. 

David Giffels is the author of six books of nonfiction, most recently "Barnstorming Ohio: To Understand America" (Hachette Books 2020), one of Library Journal's Best Books of 2020. His other books include the memoirs "Furnishing Eternity" (Scribner 2018) and "All the Way Home" (William Morrow 2008), both winners of the Ohioana Book Award, and "The Hard Way on Purpose" (Scribner 2014), a New York Times Book Review "Editors' Choice."

Yiyun Li, award-winning writer

Monday, November 6, 6:30 – 8 pm: Main Library Auditorium

Yiyun Li's books, which include five acclaimed novels, two short story collections, and two nonfiction books, are richly observed and deeply felt.

Her most recent novel, "The Book of Goose," won the 2023 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. The New York Times Book Review noted, "Li [is] one of our finest living authors: Her elegant metaphysics never elide the blood and maggots." "The Book of Goose" was named a Best Book of the Year by the Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, The Guardian, Financial Times, San Francisco Chronicle, TIME, Slate, NPR, Kirkus, Buzzfeed, and others.
