First AKRON BOOK FEST

Where Ohio Readers Meet Ohio Writers
takes place Saturday, March 11, at Main Library

The inaugural Akron Book Fest, a free event celebrating books and writing, will take place Saturday, March 11, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Main Library in downtown Akron. The literary showcase will feature over 50 area authors, illustrators, and publishers and is an opportunity to connect writers and readers and strengthen the literary community.

Attendees will learn how to get creative work published, mingle with fellow readers, and shop for books written by Ohio authors.

The Akron Book Fest will include the following:

  • Over 50 area authors who discuss the publishing process, sell and sign their work
  • New writers roundtable to gain insight and advice from published authors
  • Roundtable for writers to learn from publishers and other literary experts how to safely and effectively share their work
  • Poetry workshop with the Wick Poetry Center
  • Interactive story activity for the youngest book lovers
  • Information about how to have your book printed with available self-publishing tools
  • Book giveaways

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is free on weekends at the S. High/Market St. deck.
