Calling All Teen Writers!

Would you like a chance to share your original story or poem with the world? If so, enter the Akron-Summit County Public Library’s Teen Creative Writing Contest! A team of librarian judges will choose three winners to receive a $50 Amazon gift card and a bound copy of the Teen Creative Writing Contest Collection. All authors whose 2025-2026 entries are selected will also receive a 2025-2026 digital copy of the collection.

Rules

  1. All entries must be the original work of the author.
  2. Submitters must be in grades 6-12 in the 2025-2026 school year.
  3. Authors must reside in Ohio.
  4. There is a limit of three entries per author.
  5. Entries are due by February 28, 2026.
  6. Entries should be no longer than 20 pages.
  7. All entries longer than two pages must be typed in a Microsoft Word File, a PDF, or a Google Document.
  8. All paper and electronic entries must contain the information on the submission form below.

Entries will be included in the Akron-Summit County Public Library Creative Writing Contest Collection at the discretion of library staff. Each included author will receive a digital copy of the collection.

Hand-written entries will not be returned so make a copy!
