The Library recently launched a new auto-renewal service. Most borrowed items now renew automatically, up to five times, making it easier for customers to keep borrowed materials longer. Customers should note that not all items will auto-renew, so it is important to continue to monitor library accounts and due dates via the Library website, mobile app, or by contacting the Library.
Items excluded from the auto-renewal process:
Proper notification is important to the success of this new initiative. Customers should make sure that the Library has correct contact information and notice preference (phone or email). If notice preference is set to email, all renewal communication could happen via email – including a courtesy notice about due dates, sent out three days before an item is due, that explains which items will or will not auto-renew.
More information about customer borrowing privileges is available here. If you have any questions about renewals or due dates, please contact us at 330.643.9000.
*Note that the library is quarantining all returned items for 72 hours during the coronavirus pandemic. It is possible that, when checking records, customers will see items that have been physically returned to the library still classified as “checked out” in their account. Those items will be removed from the customer’s account once checked in after quarantine.
