Come explore the outdoors with us on Saturday, September 8 from 11 am-2 pm at all Akron-Summit County Public Library Locations.

What is a Bioblitz?

A fun, intensive, short search for biodiversity in a specific location. We’ll look for birds, mammals, wildflowers, reptiles, butterflies, beetles, mushrooms—all the nature we can find! People of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Bring your curiosity, a pencil, and tons of enthusiasm. Document your observations using a smart phone with the iNaturalist app* installed (or with a digital camera).

Together let’s make some science!

The event is free but registration is available at, search “Backyard Wilderness Bioblitz” in your local area.  Questions? Contact the Science & Technology Division at 330-643-9075 or your local branch.
