Duties & Responsibilities:

The ASCPL is hiring an Events Supervisor to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life.

This position performs a variety of duties as related to the Library’s coordination and management of events, including, but not limited to, selecting, supervising, reviewing, and assigning work to the Events staff; managing and implementing Library events; coordinating with Library staff and agencies for their use of Main Library; maintaining the Main Library meeting room reservation system; assessing the meeting room applicant’s needs for the meeting space; coordinating with Public Services, Facilities Services, Shipping & Receiving, and the Business Office regarding event execution; managing customer service issues related to meeting spaces at Main Library; promoting Main Library as a location to book events and meetings; collecting and processing statistical information regarding adult programs and use of all buildings; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required:  Possession of a bachelor’s degree, customer service experience, event management experience, and excellent computer skills. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices in the field of event management. Customer service skills, including the ability to build and maintain rapport with prospective customers and vendors, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other library agency staff. Demonstrated creative ability, written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, detail orientation and accuracy. Ability to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred:  Supervisory experience.
