Patent & Trademark Resource Center

Akron-Summit County Public Library was named a Patent & Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) in 1995. PTRCs are a nationwide network of public, academic and special libraries spread throughout the United States. We offer access to resources from the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) in a variety of formats, including instructional classes, books, databases and handouts.

Some of the activities and services offered are introductory classes in patents and patent searching and in general intellectual property and access to PubEast for advanced patent searching.

Our USPTO-trained librarians can get you started in your preliminary patent search, and guide you to the resources to help you launch a successful business venture.
