Are you a resident of Summit County who is having difficulty getting to the library, as often as you would like, due to illness or disability? Perhaps you are permanently homebound, recuperating, or caring for a family member that is experiencing these hardships. The Akron-Summit County Public Library can offer home mail service free of charge to customers of all ages!

Eligibility

Registration is required. Call LEDS at 330.643.9060 between 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday to see if you qualify and to register.

Please note: Summit County has numerous library systems supported by local taxpayers. For this reason, the Akron-Summit County Public Library is not able to offer LEDS service to residents of Barberton, Stow, Hudson, or Cuyahoga Falls (with the exception of customers living within the Woodridge school district).

Library Materials and Returns

As a member of the LEDS program, you can receive almost anything the library has to offer.

  • Books
  • Magazines
  • Audio Books (Books on CD and Playaways)
  • DVDs
  • Music CDs
  • Movies (DVD and described DVD)

The LEDS librarian can handpick items for you based on your preferences. LEDS customers may also request specific materials in the following ways:

  • They may place their own holds using the ASCPL online catalog.
  • They may call LEDS at 330.643.9060 or Mobile Services at 330.643.9055 from 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.
  • They may provide a list of requests with their return materials.

Our Mission: The Akron-Summit County Public Library provides resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life.
