  • Individualized direction and counsel from licensed patent attorneys
  • One-on-one consulting sessions with our in-house Microbusiness Specialist
  • Lessons on the details of business plans, elevator pitches, and how to bring your business to life
  • Up to $3,000 to the winner of our first-ever pitch competition

These free events offer access to an ecosystem of resources and support from the Library and are great opportunities for new or aspiring entrepreneurs looking to grow.

Startup Akron: Bring Your Business To Life

Saturday, April 15 | 10:30 am

Get going on your business-ownership dream. Learn how to enter (and win!) a pitch competition, secure your business’s intellectual property, write a business plan, network, and more. Doors open at 10 am. Visit with exhibitors from local organizations that support small businesses. Network with other entrepreneurs.

Startup Akron: Ask An Attorney - Business Law Clinic

Thursday, April 6 | 5 – 8 pm

One-on-one consultations and presentations on business-related legal matters. Registration is required for one-on-one consultations; no registration is required for the presentations. This program is a partnership between Akron-Summit County Public Library, Community Legal Aid, Akron Bar Association, Summit County Probate Court, and The University of Akron School of Law's Small Entrepreneur and Economic Development (SEED) Clinic students and independent volunteer attorneys.
