Division Manager

Location: Main Library - Electronic Services Division
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours), including evenings and weekend hours
Salary: Grade 15, $27.79/hour

Responsibilities:

Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of duties as related to the management of the Electronic Services operation. Responsible for providing direction, motivation and supervision to staff and participation in the selection process for staff. Develops and oversees procedures for agency services and routines. Maintains a high level of customer service in the Division. Maintains awareness of current trends and developments in libraries, makerspaces, computer instruction, and technology; oversees maker processes in TechZone. Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of computer training programs and services for the public; develops and implements computer training programs for Library staff in collaboration with the Staff Training Coordinator; and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated aptitude preferably in a public library setting, including comprehensive knowledge of PC usage and troubleshooting; and comprehensive knowledge of maker trends, developments, equipment, and promotion; demonstrated management skills, including the ability to motivate and direct the work of others; excellent customer service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, Library agency staff and customers; ability to assess customer interests and needs and develop services and programs accordingly; demonstrated problem-solving ability; demonstrated ability to think and work independently; demonstrated ability to speak and write effectively; demonstrated ability to use sound professional judgment in decision making. Bachelor’s degree required; related Master’s degree preferred; professional public library experience preferred; previous management experience preferred.
