Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours), including evening and weekend hours
Salary: Grade 11, $19.56/hour
Plans, develops, and implements Library customer and staff training programs related to the use of the Internet, application software, library databases and related library technologies; assists in the design, implementation, training and support of Information Technology projects as required; assists customers in using Library provided technology and technology owned by the customer; assists customers in using software, the Internet, and related applications; assists and instructs customers with computer skills in person, by phone, and email; assists customers in use of the technologies in the TechZone@Main; and performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
A demonstrated knowledge of hardware, software, and Internet application skills; demonstrated knowledge of training techniques; ability to accurately assess Library customer and staff training needs; advanced level computer skills and aptitude for helping customers with a variety of hardware and software, including all MS Windows/Office products and all technologies in the TechZone@Main; ability to effectively troubleshoot basic computer, device, and software problems; ability to interact patiently with and provide service in a manner which is respectful to customers of all ages, cultures, socioeconomic levels, and levels of computer knowledge; ability to effectively multitask; strong verbal and written communications skills; strong presentation skills; sound professional judgment; excellent customer-relation skills, including a pleasing personality and the ability to get along well with others. Ability to provide technical support for library technologies in person and by phone. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
