Donations Wanted

The Main Library of the Akron-Summit County Public Library is accepting donations of gently used books, videos, DVDs, CDs, books on tape and magazines on specific topics, such as cooking, arts & crafts, history, etc. We do not want vinyl records, cassette tapes, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books and sets of encyclopedia more than 20 years old.

Donations made to the Library are tax deductible. Donation Receipt forms are available wherever donations are made. Librarians will review the items and may select some items for the Library’s current circulation; other items will be given to the Friends of Main Library for its Library Shop on Main.

Donations can be brought to the Main Library Circulation Counters, the Drive-Up Window on South High Street or the Library Shop. Large donations may be taken to the Library’s Shipping & Receiving Area only on Monday thru Friday, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Shipping & Receiving is located at the end of a driveway off Mill Street between Main Street and High Street. If its very large door is closed, use the doorbell and speaker box just to the left of a driver’s window. Or, you can contact a branch library to see if they are accepting donations. Unfortunately, we are unable to pick up your donations.
