Grantseeking Basics with Foundation Directory Online
This broad overview of the grantseeking process ranges from what you need to have in place before you seek a grant to using the database tool Foundation Directory Online to find funders. Intended for novice representatives from nonprofit organizations as well as those who may need a refresher course in the use of available sources. (Grantwriting is not included.)

Join us for our new, one-hour training on obtaining financial aid for your studies. We'll dispel some common myths about foundation support and discuss:

• The application process, including tips on how to make your application successful

Proposal Writing and Budgeting Basics
Are you new to proposal writing and budgeting? Do you have questions about the process? Are you wondering if you need a financial expert to create a budget for you? This free training session geared to the novice grantseeker will cover such topics as:
• What are the key components of a proposal to a foundation?
• What kinds of expenses are covered under "personnel"?
• How do you determine an overall amount that is neither too high nor too low in relation to what you expect to accomplish?
• What kinds of expenses should be included on the "overhead" line?
Join us to learn the essentials of proposal writing, including budget preparation, as part of a basic grant proposal.

How to Approach a Foundation: From Initial Contact to Getting Funded - What Does It Take?

This class is intended for fundraisers with some experience under their belts, though not necessarily with foundations. Participants who attend this class will have a special opportunity for a dialogue with a local Akron grant maker. This class will teach you how to:
• Initiate contact with potential funders.
• Plan calls and meetings.
• Build partnerships with donors.
