Maintenance Worker - Facility Services

Location: Main Library
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours), including evening and weekend hours & is not job-share eligible.
Salary: Grade 5, $12.87/hour

Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: trouble shooting and repairing 277 volt or lower electrical systems, trouble shooting and repairing simple mechanical equipment, inspection and minor repairs to roofs, concrete repair and flooring repairs to carpet and tile floors; performing carpentry and plumbing work; installing equipment and lights; inspecting library buildings and equipment; plaster repair and painting the interior and exterior of buildings; snow removal; routine recordkeeping activities; and other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in the methods and practices of carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and other related areas; ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to perform work in a neat and orderly fashion; ability to lift with or without reasonable accommodation; ability to lift, bend and climb ladders as necessary; ability to work well with others; ability to understand and follow written and verbal directions; ability to read and interpret blueprints for buildings; ability to operate a variety of power tools and light machinery; 3 or more years of experience in the maintenance of Government, Commercial, or Educational buildings and equipment on the skilled trade level preferred; L.O.T.O and electrical safety hazard awareness training required; completion of a standard high school course or equivalent required, trade school certification preferred; basic computer skills; possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required; ability to drive Library van or automobiles; a good driving record; and insurable driving status at all times is required.
