Join us for an evening of fun with Eric Litwin, the song-singing, guitar strumming, # 1 New York Times bestselling author, who brings early literacy and music together. He is the original author of the Pete the Cat series as well as the author of The Nuts and Groovy Joe. Books will be available for purchase and autographing. And you might get to take a picture with Pete the Cat!

Each family in attendance gets a free Pete the Cat book, courtesy of United Way. Additional books will be available for purchase.

Show the flyer (paper or digital) to a METRO bus operator starting at 4:30 pm to ride FREE on METRO regular line-service routes, excluding NCX, Call-A-Bus and SCAT services. Valid Friday, October 5, 2018 only. Visit for routes and times.

Eric Litwin’s appearance will kick off The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge. This free program encourages you to read 1,000 books to your child before he or she starts kindergarten.

Akron-Summit County Public Library has named Barbara White as Deputy Director, effective July 30. She succeeds former Deputy Director, Pamela Hickson-Stevenson, who was named Library Director in April. White was previously the Neighborhood Services Manager.
