American, born 1976, Conneaut, Ohio;
Lives in Akron, Ohio

Appearing in the series Up and Down Copley, Micah Kraus draws the viewer into primary colored details of an ephemeral handmade sign found walking about Copley Road in Please Knock Hard. Kraus is a photographer and multimedia artist who finds inspiration anywhere from traveling the world to wandering the streets of his West Akron neighborhood. “My digital camera allows me to give compositional order to visually chaotic locations, while also documenting change in my surroundings over time,” concludes Kraus.

Micah Kraus is an artist and Archbishop Hoban High School art teacher. Kraus has had work exhibited throughout Akron for Curated Storefront and Akron Soul Train. He also designs all of the graphics and artwork for Akron Coffee Roasters, including the images on their bags of coffee beans.
