Many Summit County residents are forced to choose between buying food and paying bills, accessing transportation, and meeting medical needs. Among our neighbors, more than 24,000 of those who live with food insecurity are children.
Harvest for Hunger 2018, a campaign of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank (along with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Mahoning Valley, and the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio), seeks to collect 100,000 pounds of food to address the hunger needs in our community. You can help—at your local library!
Throughout the month of April, the Akron-Summit County Public Library is joining schools, local companies, community organizations, and more in hosting Harvest for Hunger food drives at our Main Library and in each of our 18 branches. Harvest for Hunger bins are waiting for your food donation, including these most-needed items—
The Library is proud to support the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank (our partner in serving after-school snacks at 8 of our city locations) in its effort to make Summit County a place where everyone thrives. Thanks for your support of Harvest for Hunger—and your Akron-Summit County Public Library.
