Duties & Responsibilities:

The ASCPL is hiring a Systems Support Administrator to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life. Duties include:

  • Performing Active Directory and Microsoft 365 account administration as backup to the Server Administrator, including creating, maintaining, and managing user accounts, mailboxes, and distribution lists.
  • Managing external vendors in support of the Library’s servers and software.
  • Evaluating, making recommendations for, and purchasing computer hardware and software.
  • Providing system and computer technical assistance and training to employees with emphasis on Microsoft 365.
  • Suggesting and testing future strategies for Office 365 products and services.
  • Managing Microsoft Defender 365 with the responsibility of securing the Library’s email filter and client computers.
  • Supporting the operation of Microsoft Teams and other related services, such as OneNote and OneDrive.
  • Deploying and configuring images and software with Microsoft Deployment Tools.
  • Supporting Microsoft Office and other Tier 1, 2, and 3 Help Desk calls as the need arises for Library staff and customers.
  • Diagnosing issues and repairing computer equipment, including any applicable software in relation to these devices.
  • Developing and maintaining Automation Policy and Procedures for Information Technology and Library staff.
  • In collaboration with the Director, Technology, overseeing the work of System Support Technicians and System Support Specialists and functioning as the next-level escalation Tier for help desk support.
  • Providing direction for the Tier 1 and 2 technical support staff and coordinating the daily help desk issues for resolution.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:  Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.  CompTIA Security+ or Network+ or equivalent certification.  Knowledge of desktop operating systems including Windows OS, Linux, Mac OS, Mobile OS, and Server OS.  Knowledge of relevant software applications computer hardware, and peripheral equipment.  Knowledge of diagnostic utilities.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, PowerShell, and Active Directory Domain Services.  Skill in customer service.  Ability to troubleshoot information technology problems.  A valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable personal transportation.  Criminal background and education verification checks.

Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree.  Relevant Microsoft certification.  5 to 7 or more years of relevant experience.
