Introduction
You can now download free e-books, Audiobooks, and Music using your Akron-Summit County Public Library card and the OverDrive service. This service supplies e-books, audiobooks, music and video to thousands of libraries worldwide.

Note: Your library card must be active and in good standing to download materials.

To get started with Overdrive eMedia:

1. View the Overdrive tutorial video, or look over the step by step instructions for your device at the Overdrive Help Site.
2. Download and install Overdrive Media Console, Adobe Digital Editions, or Sony Reader Library for your computer.
3. Activate Overdrive Media Console, Adobe Digital Editions, or Sony Reader Library on your computer.
4. Check out and download media to your computer from the Library's Overdrive Collection.
5. Install the appropriate software on your portable device.
6. Transfer the media to your portable device.
