Tallmadge History Digital Exhibit
Description
This photograph was taken the same year that Tallmadge schools officially became a school district. Prior to this time, they were under the jurisdiction of the County Board of Education. Substitute teacher Laura D. Lawrence is shown with the class. This class is likely one from the elementary school that was built in 1950 on Dunbar Road in the southeast section of town. Another elementary school was built in 1953 on West Overdale Drive.
