Description
In 1982, the Akron-Summit County Library received funds through the federal project, Computer Assisted Learning in Libraries (CALL).  These funds allowed for the purchase of Radio Shack TRS-80 computers, the first personal computers for patron use.  These pcs were
driven by audio cassettes and operated with the BASIC program language. Today, the Main Library provides more than 150 personal computers with internet access.
