Description
In 1981, the Akron-Summit County Public Library launched its first online information retrieval service, ASK AL.  This new service was funded by the State Library of Ohio with money made available by the  Library Services and Construction Act.  Library users now have direct access to more than 60 online reference databases as well as email reference service through Ask-A-Librarian and Know it now an internet chat based reference service available around the clock.
