Description
In 1930, Akron school children collected pennies to purchase a flag for the christening of the yet to be launched Naval airship, U.S.S. Akron. The Main Library served as a collection point.
A propeller from the U.S.S. Akron donated by the family of Shorty Fulton hangs in the Special Collections Division at Main Library.
