Description
After Kenmore was annexed to Akron in 1928, the Akron Public Library assumed responsibility for a book collection that had been maintained, since 1923, in a Kenmore department store owned by Louis Grotstein. In 1930, the collection was moved to the second floor of the Kenmore City Hall on Kenmore Boulevard. The current Kenmore Branch located on Fourteenth Street SW opened in 1957.
