Description
Harriet Leaf headed the Children's Department for thirty years. During her tenure, many programs were instituted to provide better library service to children. Ms. Leaf was affectionately known as the "Story Lady." In 1938 she began regular storytelling programs on radio stations WJW and WADC. From 1940 to 1957, she hosted a weekly program, "Tip Top Tales" on WAKR.
