Description
The Chamberlain Branch Library was the first of a series of new branch buildings constructed in  the 1950s and 1960s.  It was the successor to the original Firestone Park Branch located at 353 Reed Avenue which opened in 1929. Chamberlain Branch was named for James W. Chamberlain who made a bequest to the Akron Public Library that continues to fund educational projects at the Akron-Summit County Public Library.  Chamberlain was replaced in  2004 by the new Firestone Park Branch located on Aster Avenue.
