Kits for Kids

Are you looking for an easy way to introduce your toddler or preschooler to early literacy skills through theme-based learning? Kits for Kids are a quick way to check out all five of the essential early literacy skills identified by researchers as most beneficial in preparing children to learn: Read, Write, Talk, Sing, and Play—all in one bag!

Kits for Kids are theme-based, early childhood learning resources that are selected by librarians and packaged in one convenient bag for easy checkout. These Kits are a great educational resource for toddlers and preschoolers along with their parents, caregivers, and teachers. Each Kit includes: six books centered on a topic or theme, a DVD or CD related to the same theme, a toy or puzzle on theme, and an activity sheet full of suggestions to extend your child’s learning.

Kits are available for check out in many library locations. If you cannot find the title you are looking for, ask a library staff member to place a hold on the title for you. The following Kits are available in various locations in our system. Please call the library at (330) 643-9050 or check the library's catalog for a complete Kits for Kids listings with locations and availability.
